ESWC Masters of Paris

One of the most anticipated events of the year kicks off tomorrow, the ESWC Masters of Paris. The winners this weekend qualify directly to the ESWC global final in San Jose, California later in the year.

The top competitors from around the globe have been summoned to Paris, France this weekened for what is sure to be one of the most intense events of the year. Li “Sky” Xiaofeng, Yoan “ToD” Merlo, Jae Wook “Lucifer” Noh, Daniel “XlorD” Spenst, Mykhaylo “HoT” Novopashyn Seo Woo “ReiGn” Kang, June “Lyn” Park, Jang “Moon” Jae Ho and Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen are all on the guest list among others, literally the crème de la crème of Warcraft competitors will be battling it out this weekend for cash in hand and a pass right to the ESWC global final.

Jang “Moon” Jae Ho is the favourite coming into the event coming off a big win in France just last week at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational 2008. Park, Merlo, Xiaofeng and Schenkhuizen as always are expected to do well in competition and it’s a safe bet some combination of the five a fore mentioned names will make up the final two.

Regardless of who makes the final this weeks event is sure to be one of the most intense we’ve seen all year, the BWI event was just a small taster compared to the buffet of championship talent the ESWC has prepared for us this weekend.

The event will begin with group stage round robin then progress to double elimination brackets.

The game’s start at 10:00 CET this Saturday and will carry right on through to Sunday morning, replays will be available on the homepage and streaming will be available via WTV and the live stream the ESWC has provided.
