TeD and TH000 qualify for ESWC

The ESWC Chinese qualifier took place this past week from Wuxi, China where some of the top Chinese talent turned out to compete, as well as a few hopeful amateurs.

Huang “TH000” Xiang and Zhuo “TeD” Zeng, of wNv and World Elite, took first and second place to secure their participation at the ESWC grand finals in San Jose, California later this year.

Surprisingly, KODE5 2008 champion Xuwen “InFi” Wang was unable to advance beyond the second group stage despite being the staunch favourite to win the event.

Xiang’s chances of advancing from the second group stage were shaken after a loss to TeD and teammate Sai, though a win versus Lyc earlier in the group gave him a second place finish and a seat in the bracket stage. TeD on the other hand managed to glide through both the first and second group stage unscathed, winning all of his matches.

The two met again in the finals where Xiang was able to win the match two to nil, taking first place and shattering Zeng’s undefeated streak.

The two will join Li “Sky” Xiaofeng, who qualified via the ESWC Masters of Paris, in August of this year in California.
