Birmingham Salvo Wins CGS Finals
 The UK Based Birmingham Salvo team have won the 2008 Championship Gaming Series. Birmingham Salvo went head to head with San Francisco Optx to come out on top with a score of 22-15 to win $500,000.
Salvo managed to win 4 out of their 5 games with the following scores.
Counter-Strike: Source [8:4] Forza 2 [5:2] Fifa 2008 [2:1] Dead or Alive Female [2:5] Dead or Alive Male [5:3]
“I’m extremely proud of my team right now,” said Michael O’Dell, General Manager for Birmingham Salvo.
“They truly deserve the title of World Champions. We faced a lot of tough competition throughout the season, but when our backs were against the wall, every player demonstrated the skills and the poise to step up when it mattered the most. My players spent hundreds of hours practicing this season, and their hard work paid off tonight.”

Hopefully this is the start of much bigger things to come, however we hope that next season the scoring is thought out a little more carefully.
