ToD signs with Gravitas Gaming

Gravitas Gaming further strengthened their roster today with the acquisition of Yoan “ToD” Merlo, after his recent split with Mousesports.

Merlo 23, was one of several players to leave Mousesports over the past few months as a result of an organizational restructuring. Kim “SaSe” Hammar was the first to jump ship later being picked up by another German organization, ALTERNATE aTTaX. Dimitry “Happy” Kostin later left the organisation after the announcement that the team would forego their WC3L slot.

As was the case after departing Four Kings, Merlo’s interest was in a team where his abilities were liable to make a difference as apposed to joining a star-studded team where he was just another face in the crowd.

Merlo was voted ‘Best Warcraft III Player’ in 2007 and has received another nomination this year, he has also picked up countless titles as a solo competitor and with former team Four Kings.

In Gravitas Merlo will team up with the likes of Mykhaylo “HoT” Novopashyn and Samuli “elfittaja” Sihvonen to create what is arguably now the most powerful European team.

Gravitas Gaming had a stunning performance during the last NGL season and although the team is quite strong, the WC3L format was likely to present a few problems for the team. With the acquisition of Merlo the team now has a significantly greater chance of success with the WC3L format.

Merlo is ineligible to compete in the WC3L with Gravitas until week four however, he will be competing as Gravitas at the ESWC Grand Finals and possibly the NGL ONE finals as well.
