WC3L XIV Playday 3
Week three of WC3L competition starts today with a pair of exciting matches between two well established teams and two up and comers.
Mortal Team Work will be taking on RAPTOR in what could be described as a David vs. Goliath scenario. Mortal Team Work have won both of their two initial matches taking four points per match, a frighteningly powerful display of strength versus SK Gaming has launched mTw into the position of favourite. At the moment Mortal Team Work is tied with MeetYourMakers and World Elite on the big board so they’ll be looking for a big win over the weaker opponent this week to thrust themselves ahead of the competition.
RAPTOR meanwhile managed to do quite well in their initial match scoring an important win over German rival Alternate aTTaX. A win in the first week over a more experienced opponent cemented the team’s status as a solid competitor amongst the amateur element, but a devastating five – nil loss in week two to World Elite brought the team back to reality.
Fnatic got off to a bumpy start this season suffering a convincing loss at the hands of SK Gaming, a forgivable offense. In week two the team managed to pull it back with a crushing defeat over nGize with Space and Shy coming up big for the team as they often do, bringing them back to fourth place on the big board.
NoWAYouT have done surprisingly well this season taking two matches from World Elite with a three – two score in WE’s favour, Ghost and Sting came up huge for their team scoring wins against InFi and TeD.
In week two the team brought it back with a win over Alternate aTTaX with Sting and Ghost again doing their team justice alongside KPECT who managed to out mirror XlorD.
Fnatic is the clear favourite here but NoWAYouT’s star duo Ghost and Sting pack a powerful punch, this team is sure to surprise a few more opponents this season.
