WC3L XIV Playday 6
Wasting no time at all the ESL pushes onward with week six of the WC3L regular season. Both this week’s initial matches look like easy points for MYM and nGize, but for nWo and KoD it’s an opportunity to make a splash.
The first match of the week will see the well established and ever dominant MeetYourMakers taking on the newcomer NoWAYouT. Currently, MYM is sitting comfortably at number three on the big board with some of their toughest matches (SK & WE) already behind them.
NoWAYouT have had an incredibly tough season thus far with only one win and four losses however, those four losses were dealt by World Elite, fnatic, mTw and nGize making NoWAYouT’s record deceptively feeble. Although they have lost four matches, their losses against World Elite and nGize weren’t by too large of a margin. Ghost and Sting are nWo’s heavy hitters and have done well to an extent, Sting especially, while KPECT is an impressive player in his own right, he has a formidable mirror match up that I wouldn’t recommend any team take lightly. Although it’s highly improbable, it’s not outside the realm of possibilities that nWo could beat MYM this week – though it does toe the borderline.
In match two today Keepers of Destruction are up against nGize and unfortunately for KoD it doesn’t look like they’ll be shifting out of last place any time soon. KoD, not unlike nWo, have had an incredibly tough season so far, a quick look at their five initial opponents explains that nil to five record. Keepers of Destruction are by no means a poor team, but the loss of HolyHuman and YanE has left a hole in this team that the remaining members just don’t seem fit to fill.
Similarly, nGize have also faced some of the league’s strongest competitors early in the season, though have had the good fortune of tasting success these past two weeks. With a win (or two) finally under their belts nGize can start feeling enthused about the season. Team nGize are tough to categorize, they do have a promising roster though at this point in time the team definitely has a low threshold for the Korean might. The next three matches lined up for nGize are all lower tier teams giving them an opportunity to start racking up match and map wins, four weeks from now the team faces Gravitas, a win there would put nGize in a strong position to make a play for the finals.
Replays will be available from the homepage. You can watch the matches live here on WTV.
